Ezequiel Leija was elected as District Secretary/Treasurer of the Central Latin American District Council of the Assemblies of God at the last District Council in Salt Lake City, Utah in April of 2007.

Prior to this election, he served as the Senior Pastor of Zion Assembly of God Church in Grand Junction, Colorado from 1990-2007, for a period of 16 years.  Ezequiel also served as Senior Pastor of Templo Jerusalem Assembly of God located in Gill, Colorado from 1983-1990 and Aposento Alto in Miliken Colorado from 1974-1981.  He also served as a Race Track Chaplain in Chicago, IL from 1981-1983.

Ezequiel graduated from Magdiel Bible Institute, Matamoros, Tamps, Mexico in 1972 with a 2-year diploma in Biblical Studies.  Later he received his Bachelor of Theology from Latin American Theological Seminary, La Puente, California.  He received his Exhorter's Credential from the General Council of the Assemblies of God in Springfield, Missouri in July of 1972.  He later received his License to Preach in July of 1975 and was Ordained in July of 1985.

Ezequiel is married to Elizabeth and they make their home in Thornton, Colorado.  They have two children and four grand children.

Ezequiel enjoys watching and playing sports.

His favorite Scripture is Timothy 1:12 "I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has given me strength and he considered me faithful, appointing me to his service."
